I know I shouldn't want one of these
I know they're way to expensive to maintain
I know the previous generation was built way better
but holy fucking shit sign me right the fuck up for this!

What an incredibly nice way to relieve yourself of all that annoying money.

I had to give a customer a price quote today on a fuel tank for an w220 S65. The independent shop cracked it (because they always do) trying to install those fauly $800 sending units. How much for a fuel tank?
...
...
$2800.
Still a rad car!

my dad owns a s500 same generation. It is a money pit... But now you have two turbos and 4 more cylinders. V12s aren't the most reliable either with all their moving parts and what not.

I'd be making the shop eat the cost for screwing up that job

it's sort of common on those. Weak tanks. Hopefully the shop disclosed that to the customer that it could happen, if not, yup the shop should pay of course. We tell customers that. If the customer is informed and still approved the repair and it happens, it will be covered by the customer.

2800 bucks could buy me an entire crown victoria P71
but a S65 with a replaced gas tank doesn't make you look like a pleb
